BMJ Awards South Asia: 2020 Categories
This BMJ Awards South Asia 2020 includes ten categories spanning innovation, quality, medical education and research, and clinical excellence. Entrants will demonstrate how their work changed policy or practice, and/or how they improved health outcomes in South Asia.
This award is open to teams or individuals who have undertaken work to influence policy or effect social changes in their field.
This award recognizes teams taking action to reduce the impact of their practice on the environment.
This award recognizes primary care teams who have had a demonstrable impact on the health and wellbeing of the wider community through a specific project.
This award recognizes the impact of a team or an individual working to strengthen integrity and transparency in their field of practice.
This award recognizes teams who are working to make care for communicable diseases affordable and accessible. The judging panel will be looking for evidence of a demonstrable impact on the delivery of care for communicable diseases in the region.
This award recognizes healthcare professionals in South Asia who are working to make integrated Maternal & Child Health Services affordable and accessible. We are particularly interested in teams using innovative approaches to make improvements and teams that harness the experience of patients and the wider healthcare team in their projects.
This award recognizes healthcare professionals in South Asia who are working to make integrated Mental Health Services affordable and accessible. We are particularly interested in teams using innovative approaches to improvement and initiatives that involve patients.
This award is open to South Asian teams who are working to make care for non-communicable diseases affordable and accessible. The panel will be looking for teams who have succeeded in bringing a demonstrable impact to the delivery of care for non-communicable diseases in the region.
Our panel of judges is looking for an innovative project from a South Asian surgical team that has measurably improved surgical care for either patients and their caregivers or has made an impact on a wider population. We welcome submissions from teams who submit projects with an impact on uniquely regional healthcare problems.
The following categories are awarded by the BMJs judging panel and are not open to submissions.
Outstanding Contribution to Health
This award is given to an individual who has made, and continues to make, an outstanding contribution to improving health and healthcare in South Asia.
South Asia Research Paper of the Year
This award recognizes original research from South Asia that has the potential to contribute significantly to improving health and healthcare.
This award recognizes teams that use innovative processes in quality improvement to achieve better outcomes for patients.
