2024 - 2025 Awards categories

Submissions have been entered to the following categories in 2024 – 2025:

  • Digital Innovation: This award honours a project that has used a novel and original digital approach to improve patient care demonstrably.
  • Quality Improvement: This award recognises teams that are using original approaches to quality improvement to boost clinical outcomes.
  • Sustainability and Climate Action: This award recognises teams taking action to reduce the impact of their practice on the environment.
  • Maternal and Child Health Team of the Year: This award recognises healthcare professionals in South Asia who are working to make integrated Maternal & Child Health Services affordable and accessible.
  • Excellence in Medical Education: This award recognises a project which demonstrates outstanding innovation in medical education and performance improvement.
  • Primary Care: This award recognises primary care teams who have had a substantial effect on the health and well-being of the wider community.

We will also be presenting awards in the following nominated categories:

  • Research Paper of the year: This award recognises original research from South Asia that has the potential to contribute significantly to improving health and healthcare.
  • Special Recognition: This award is given to an individual who has made, and continues to make, an outstanding contribution to improving health and healthcare in South Asia. The judging for this category is carried out by the editorial team at The BMJ. It is an editorial decision based on publications and projects that the editors have seen over the past year. It is not possible to submit an application or nominate an individual for these awards.
