Guidance for BMJ Awards: South Asia entrants

How to enter

Step 1. Confirm your entry is eligible

Before starting your submission, confirm that your project meets the eligibility criteria.

Does your entry meet the requirements?

Confirm that:

  • Your project is located in one of the eligible South Asian countries.

  • The work was completed by 31 December 2026.

  • You have selected the category that best reflects the primary impact of your project.

If you can answer yes to all three, you can proceed with your entry.


Eligibility

Who can enter

You can enter if you are an individual, team, or institution based in one of the following countries:

India | Sri Lanka | Nepal | Bangladesh | Pakistan | Bhutan | Myanmar | Maldives | Afghanistan


Eligible projects must:

  • Show clear impact at patient, community, or system level.

  • Have been completed or substantially progressed within the stated eligibility period.

  • Demonstrate measurable outcomes.

  • Align clearly with one award category.

Only one category may be selected per entry.

Step 2. Prepare your entry

You will be asked to provide:

  • A project title and a 300–500 word summary
  • The problem addressed, intervention, measurable results and learning
  • Supporting evidence such as data, photos, videos or feedback
  • A clear description of impact for patients, communities or health systems
